First Free-Roam VR Education delivered.

First school completed - Murray Bridge

Recently our team and partners travelled to Murray Bridge High School to complete our first ever school for Free-Roam VR Education. We did the Space Exploration module, integrating fun with knowledge creating a calm, creative and curious environment. We find that virtual reality is a way for converting theory into practical, allowing for engagement whilst retaining information.

How does it work?

Content was delivered to 90 students total, and took sessions of 30 students, allowing for 90 minutes per session. Our team brought the necessary equipment such as headsets, Wi-Fi, and computer, and we used the schools gym. We can also use a large indoor area. Headsets are incredibly simple and easy to put on, and virtual boundaries will be set up allowing for a quick setup for each class.

The space exploration module we had for Murray Bridge High School promotes scientific and space information as students investigate Earth in the context of other celestial bodies in our solar system, including other planets and moons. Students will be led through a lesson on the characteristics of the planets, and how they compare to Earth.

In addition to the students, we had the special education class join with us on our adventure through the stars. One of the highlights we had from this “trip” was a student with a wheelchair quote

“It’s the first time I felt normal”

This quote means everything to our team we aim to include everyone in our sessions aspiring to create bonds between students boosting social confidence.

Concerned for safety?

Before each VR session a briefing occurs to allow all students and staff members to understand the rules so that a safe environment is maintained. Our team will also constantly monitor students whilst they travel through other realities, providing a friendly hand if someone feels unsafe or is unsure what to do.
